Whether you support America's new president-elect or not, here is a list of noteworthy comments he has made leading up to present date. The purpose of this article is not to bash anyone for supporting him but to make people aware of what type of person they are supporting when they declare themselves a Trump supporter. If you are not aware of the many offensive or slandering comments Donald Trump has made over the years, here is your quick update.
1. "An ‘extremely credible source’ has called my office and told me that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a fraud."
This is one of Donald Trump's most well-known quotes. It sparked controversy as some people began to question Obama's true birth place, while most were astonished at the blatant lie. There is no evidence that even supports the accusation.
2. His company got caught discriminating against black people — twice.
If you thought Trump's offensive comments and actions were something new, that is far from the case. Dating back to 1973, Donald Trump's real estate company in New York was sued by the U.S Justice Department. This was because the company failed to treat all it's clients equally. They offered different prices and policies to different races, sometimes not selling to black customers at all. Sticking to the company's biased ways, it was again sued in 1976 for the same discriminatory practices.
3. “And isn’t it funny. I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it.”
Donald Trump has made numerous comments concerning race and his strong opinions of those who merely have a different skin color. This quote demonstrates how lowly he thinks of an entire race of people as he generalizes black people as unworthy of performing certain tasks. Is this the type of person you'd like to work for?
4. "A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10."
So if you thought the racial discrimination was bad enough the list goes on. America's president-to-be has made multiple sexual comments leading up to his campaign for the presidency. Many of the comments portray women as nothing more than an object. He has openly criticized women regarding their looks, including his childish judgment of a Miss Universe winner who, to him, was nothing more than "Miss Piggy".
The list of Donald Trump's disparaging and offensive incidents could go on for pages. The above incidents don't even mention the anti-Muslim statements he has made or the lack of consideration for the Mexican portion of America's population. It is more than safe to say that he has a history of offending the nation he is now in charge of.
