Donald Trump: Future President Or Failed Businessman?

With the election just a few short months away, we need to seriously evaluate who will be receiving our votes.

Donald Trump: Future President Or Failed Businessman?
The Washington Times

When you think of the president of the United States of America, what adjectives come to mind? Inexperienced? Disrespectful? Irresponsible? A businessman? Bankruptcy? Misogynistic? Perhaps a tacky toupee wearer? If that is your definition of an ideal president, then Donald Trump is the perfect candidate for you. He has all the right credentials, complete with the great hair. He will undoubtedly make our best president yet, with his misogynistic ways, lack of political experience, and reckless financial past. Could we ask for a better presidential candidate?

It is no secret that women have been striving for equality for decades; however, this coveted equality has not yet been achieved. With Donald Trump as president, we would obviously rapidly expedite this process of equality of the sexes. With the comments Trump has made in the past regarding women, and is known for making time and time again, he is not fit for this huge responsibly as president.

He has made comments about women, even including his own daughter, disrespecting them and objectifying them. This is not the kind of man we need as a leader, especially one that men and women alike look up to as a role model. As a misogynist, he will take us several steps back in the fight for equality of the sexes. But yes, let’s have a president who would make years and years of this fight worthless. I mean, should we, as women, even have the right to vote?

As Americans voting in the upcoming election, we should consider the fact that Donald Trump has these big plans to help the American economy. Can he really help us, though? The man who has gone bankrupt several times in countless business ventures is our best option to help our economy. Our economy is not the best it has ever been, and our country needs someone fiscally responsible to help us turn our economy around. Is this person really going to be Donald Trump? Yes, he is an entrepreneur; however, just about every business he has started has failed. This is not a man we can trust with our country.

If he cannot even run his own businesses, then he most certainly cannot manage to run our country. His reckless ways will put this country in danger financially, even more so than it is now. Can our country afford to have an irresponsible man over our country’s spending? How much more debt will the United States be in after his time in office? Will he use federal funds to get rid of the bird’s nest attached to his head? Perhaps that would be a better use of federal money than how it is currently being spent.

For someone so involved with various business ventures, there is one thing he has not explored until now—political office. Donald Trump is a lot of things, but certainly not a politician. His background is solely business—more specifically, failed businesses. You would not choose a someone to perform a surgery if he had no experience, so why should running a country be any different?

I mean, if just anyone could run a country, if it was an easy job, anyone could do it. We could have had fabulous presidents, like Beyoncé, Amy Poehler, or Robin Williams. You obviously need some credentials to be president of the United States; I imagine it is a stressful and demanding job, one that requires some political experience. How would he deal with foreign affairs? Just say, “You’re fired!” every time a foreign official did something he did not agree with? The world doesn't work like his show, "The Apprentice."

A position as vital as president of the United States should not be filled with just any fool, especially not Donald Trump. Electing Trump as president would be a major mistake, and we would not be taken as seriously as a country. We could easily fall behind other countries, in terms of equality, with him as president. Women cannot afford to give up what we have been working towards for decades.

More importantly, this country does not need to increase its debt at all. Trump’s irresponsible spending habits mimic those of a teenager with their parents’ credit card—outrageous purchases that no one benefits from. Someone who claims to be an entrepreneur, yet ends up bankrupt every time he turns around, should not be put in charge of an entire country.

This man knows nothing about how to run a country. His background in failed businesses is not at all reassuring that he would make a good president. Since it is such a high level of responsibility, you would think that we would want someone who actually knows what they are doing. Don't waste your vote putting him in office. How can Donald Trump maintain control of a country when he cannot even maintain control of his own hair?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
