Donald Trump: Chauvinist in Chief

Let's just build the wall around him.

At this point, is anybody surprised when Donald Trump says or does something ridiculous, or bigoted, or hateful? Are we surprised that stories and recordings and videos have been uncovered, showing just how awful his character actually is? I am no longer surprised by the things that Donald Trump does. Disgusted, yes. But not surprised.

What I am surprised with is how people still support him.

Recently, a recording of Donald Trump was released. In this recording, Trump had this to say in regards to women:

“When you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump said. “You can do anything,”

He adds seconds later: “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”

These are not the comments of a man who should be President of the United States. These are the comments of a man that does not respect women. These are the comments of a man who objectifies, marginalizes, abuses, and uses women. If these comments aren’t clear, Trump is talking about forcing himself upon women. He is promoting rape culture. He is promoting sexual violence. It’s absolutely disgusting and it’s absolutely unacceptable.

I understand that Hillary Clinton is not an ideal candidate for president. I understand and respect the issues that people have with her. But this isn’t about her right now. It isn’t about Bill Clinton and his history with women and extramarital affairs - he’s not even the one running for President this time. This is about the fact that a large number of American citizens have stood behind a man who diminished sexual assault to simple “locker room talk.”

We’ve seen throughout this entire election that Trump is only a good candidate for people like him - straight, white Christian men with money. He has attacked minorities, Muslims, people with disabilities, the LGBT community, and now women. He has taken advantage of tax codes that normal people don’t have the opportunity to do and wants to implement economic policies that will leave anyone that falls below the top 1% in the dust. If you haven’t realized it yet, let me be the first to tell you: if you are not white, male, straight, Christian, and rich, Donald Trump has probably spoken about his problems, opinions, or thought on you, based off of things you can’t control. Do you really want him to be President of the United States.

I sure as hell don’t. And I hope you don't either.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
