Exams. That one word strikes fear into the hearts for students especially ones that aren't quite prepared for it and if not chances are they'll kill your grade and make it that harder to increase your grade to positive results. There are ways to prepare and nail that exam so you can continue on in your academic life with a clear mind.

1. Take notes.

Taking notes in class can get tedious and maybe the teacher's lecture can make you fall asleep, however, you must think of the long-term goal. All this note taking can help you better study for things like quizzes, test and most importantly: exams. Short-term wise it's boring but in the long run, can help you immensely and the little notes that you take can lead up to some questions that the professor did not even mention when speaking. Who knows, the notes that you take may apply to your daily life and can help you grow as a person.

2. Form study groups.

Another way is to form study groups. Everyone has a different perspective on how to do well in a class so get together and come up with ideas can help out each other. Get a group chat going to first establish familiarity with one another. After that plan a place. An example would be a library. It's quiet, full of knowledge and you can listen your fellow students talk without hearing any other distracting voices too much.

3. Start conversations and strategies.

Try and get the conversation going and lead it where everyone can take about what to do for the exam. Sometimes exams have a time limit and can stress out people find some strategies to help others. A good strategy is to skim through the exams and find questions that you know off the bat so you focus more on the harder ones thus getting a better chance of achieving a passing grade.

4. Review.

Once you feel like you've accomplish everything you need to study make sure you review it. Going over things again can help you memorize better. It's good to have the tools but you need to learn how to use them and the same applies for strategies you've gained in preparation for exams. Keep repeating some of the things you don't know until you get it drilled into your head. Reviewing the thing you know by heart is pointless and a waste of time.

5. Test yourself.

Testing yourself is a good way to find whether or not you learned and applied the things given. That way you can see what you need to work and more and what on less. As stated in 'Review' if you know the information well then don't waste time on it.

Using these tips can help you better manage your time and get the passing grade so you won't have to worry about bombing one at all. These aren't ways to pass completely but ways like this can help you do well and ace those exams and give some breathing room throughout your academic life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
