There are so many cute dogs that I see on a daily basis here at Illinois State University. So many people have adorable pups whether they live here at campus or are fans from back home. Here are some of the wonderful dogs that students of ISU love.

1. Otis

Otis is a 9-year-old miniature schnauzer. I got him as a Christmas and birthday present. He’s super sweet and loves to cuddle. He likes to eat raw potatoes. He doesn’t like bikes or rabbits. Otis loves being outside and loves when his uncles (Clint, Drew, and Dan) come to see him. He is a super happy pup and loves to go for walks. He also has a brother who comes in next.

2. Elliot

Elliot is a 2-year-old mutt pup. We adopted him from a rescue in Arkansas. His rescue was having an event in St. Louis and that’s how we stumbled upon him. Elliot loves to cuddle with his dad, loves squirrels, loves his guinea pig sister Alice, loves his duck and loves to destroy anything and everything. Elliot doesn’t like water. He is very comparable to a cat. Elliot can jump onto the kitchen counters without any help, therefore nothing is safe.

Both brothers are also huge fans of Illinois State Hockey as shown, the two of them repping their redbird gear!

3. Lexi

This is Lexi! She loves long walks, playing with her ball in the yard and above all loves her family.

4. Lucky Spots O'Malley

His name is Lucky Spots O'Malley. His favorite food is cheese puffs. When he's not sleeping you can find him playing with his favorite ball. He also enjoys long walks at the Nature Preserve but make sure you bring lots of water because he will be very thirsty afterward.

5. Alvin

This is Alvin. He is two years old and he was rescued by his owners from their local animal shelter. They said he was a beagle/dachshund mix, however, his owners believe there is more to him than just that. He is very energetic but also loves taking long naps.

6. Jack

This is Jack! He loves to snuggle with his family and play with his furry brother and sister every day. He's a big fan of treats and sleeping on the couch, even though he is not allowed to!

7. Dixie

This is Dixie. Her owner rescued her, but not from the shelter. Her owner actually rescued her and she was not supposed to keep her. However, after falling in love with Dixie her owner could not bring herself to bring her to the shelter so after convincing mom, Dixie found her forever home. Dixie loves cucumbers, treats, and to cuddle. She also has some adorable sweaters for when it's cold out.

8. Ringo

This is Ringo. He loves long car rides, snuggling under blankets, and laying in the sun. He also loves going on walks, playing with his friends, and chewing toy after toy. Most of all he loves napping with his family.

9. Hershey

This is Hershey. He's very shy around people outside his family and will bark at them to try to defend his people. He loves lying on the porch with his mom, and following mom around the house. When mom is not home he sits next to dad on the couch or sits in the living room looking out the window waiting for mom. He does not like car rides and will only go on a walk if his brother Beau is with him.

10. Beau

This is Beau. He is not the smartest dog, but he sure is cute. He loves to get in trouble. So far he has chewed through many pairs of socks, the vacuum cleaner wire, a thumbtack, an oven mitt, some of the couch, paper towels and anything else he can sink his teeth into. He loves to wrestle with his brother Hershey and going on walks with him.

11. Bo

My name is Bo. I don't know how to go on walks and prefer to play tug of war with my leash instead.

12. Ace

My name is Ace and I love to chase leaves around. My favorite treat is "Beggin' Stripes".

13. Duke

This is Duke. He's one year old and is full of energy! He's very loving. He barks all the time but it's only because he's excited. He's super strong and a pain to walk down the street because he gets a lot weird looks since he's a dog that looks like a horse.

There are so many wonderful pets that are behind the students here at Illinois State University. Some of them live on campus and some are back home cheering on their owner's to success. I hope these cute dogs made someone's day a little better. 13/10 Illinois State University Dogs are better than others.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
