The newest trend in the list modern social problems is the euthanasia of the terminally ill. This is also called doctor assisted suicide. There are two different types of human euthanasia. One is Voluntary euthanasia is conducted with consent. Since 2009 voluntary euthanasia has been legal in Belgium, Luxembourg, two countries Netherlands and Switzerland have made it legal, and in the states of Oregon and Washington in the United States. Involuntary euthanasia is conducted without consent. The decision is made by another person because the patient is incapable of being able to make the decision themselves . With this we are told that it is now acceptable to let people go in their journey of life through an injection given by a doctor.

To me this is not acceptable. I sympathize with people who are struggling with illness. I feel very deeply the anguish of their pain, but human euthanasia is not the way to go. I know with some people doctors say that there is no way for them to cure you, but did you ever think to lean on God. There have been numerous accounts of people being cured from life threatening illnesses solely on their faith in God. You may think that what the doctors have done have been the ones to cure them. When those people have gone back manys doctors were unable to even find a trace of the illness or the chemical footprint of the drugs used to treat the illness.

I would like to take a look at the involuntary euthanasia for a second. This is when one of your family members makes the choice for you. Are you kidding me? Why should they get to decide? The only point in which I think that is is acceptable for anyone to make the decision for me to die is if I have gone fully brain dead. By that point you are just weaning off of the machines and your families resources.

Now the argument for the go ahead on human euthanasia is that it stops the pain. It may stop the pain, but it stops your life, and one you could have lived all together. 1st Corinthians 6: 16-17 talks about this,

Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

You may be the most holy Christian in the world, but to kill oneself is to go against God and take away from him. The crime for this is you being sent to the pit of eternal suffering. To me one who has struggled with suicide this is not a way out. This pain and suffering you are dealing with now will only lead to a gateway of suffering for eternity.

For the one’s who wish to let their loved ones out of suffering, in my mind that is no better than wishing death on your loved one. Actually going through with it is considered murder. You may think it is a helpful thing, but you will have to live with the fact that your loved one is dead because you made the call. For me that would be the worst thing ever.

In conclusion human euthanasia may seem like an act of mercy for some people who deal with amounts of pain we could only dream about, but it is just emotionally taxing to have them euthanized. For the rest of your life you would be thinking that they might have pulled through. You shouldn’t have encouraged it, and you shouldn’t have signed the paper. The thought of signature can forever torment your mind.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
