Don’t waste your time and your energy on feeling you ever have to do something you’re not passionate about. Don’t force yourself to study something because the career related to it pays a lot. Everyone has such unique and wonderful talents, and corresponding passions that when payed attention to can change the world for the better. Life is too short, and our time is too precious to ignore what interests and inspires you for the sake of money.
Learning should be for the sake of learning, for passion, desire to think deeply, not for the purpose of a lifelong career that you might not even be passionate about. I want to feel electrified, inspired, and excited about learning, I don’t want to deny myself the enjoyment of education for the sake of monetary gain in the long run.
If you are passionate about one of those high salary careers, WONDERFUL! Having people in fields they are passionate about is key to innovation and progress in them. We need to make a shift in which the purpose of education is for the sake of learning and gaining knowledge again, instead of a necessary annoyance one must go through to succeed.
Humans aren’t machines and pretending that we all learn the same and should act in the same way and have the same goals does us a disservice. If we make the shift to a society that encourages people to be passionate and to do anything they can to fulfill that passion,As well as putting the structure in place to make those options available to everyone we will all benefit as a society.
I want the children of future generations, no matter their background to be able to follow their passions and make the world a better place by acting on them. Set an example, set that path, follow your heart and impact the world with your passion; you all have so much to contribute.
