Why You Should Never Settle

Don't ever settle just because you feel like you have to.

Why You Should Never Settle

Let's be honest, we've all settled one time or another in our lives but the thing is, we shouldn't have to or feel the need to. Whether it have to do with our career goals or our personal relationships. We deserve more than to settle for something we may not want to the fullest extent. If you look around at the people in your life, you will notice that a majority of them will settle, not because they want to, but because they feel like they have to.

People settle because they think they can't do any better than what they currently have. However, that is the furthest thing from the truth. If you know what you want in your life you shouldn't stop until you get it. If you want to be a doctor or a lawyer but you feel like it's out of reach because of the time and cost it takes to get there, forget all of those outside factors. You should go for what you feel is the right thing, do what you love to do. If you want to pursue a career in art but you feel there aren't many jobs out there, who cares? If you love what you do, you will be happy and you will never feel like you settled or like you aren't capable of something.

Most of the time we settle because of what others might think or say. When you see others in a relationship, you may want to be in one so bad that you will settle for somebody who doesn't treat you right or who doesn't live up to your standards. Your time will come, your prince charming/princess will come soon enough, don't rush it, and don't jump into something that you don't really want because you may miss out on who you're really supposed to be with. If you believe in soul mates, wait until you truly find yours. Wait until you find the person who makes you feel weak in the knees and who does everything to make sure that you are happy.

Never settle! It takes time to reach your life goals, career goals, and relationship goals, and just because you can't have them all right at this moment doesn't mean you never will. Wait and work for what you truly want and when you do you'll be glad you didn't accept anything less.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
