The two main life lessons you learn while you're away at college is nothing is free, nor cheap and there is never enough time in the world to get everything wrong. This fact alone makes shopping for the holidays a pain in the tush. But fret not, I have found ways around the whole ordeal to make this gift season as simple as possible.

These projects are cheap and not at all time-consuming. The best part is that all of them are "Treat Yo-Self" gifts, so you will definitely be everyone's favorite gift giver this holiday season men and women included. Also, in order to grab all of your supplies is just two simple trips to your local Walmart and Dollar Tree/99 Cent store.

Collectively to make all of these projects you will need these supplies: sugar, mason jars, clear ornament, epsom salt (Dollar Tree/99 Cent store), essential oils, coconut oil, petroleum jelly and containers (Walmart). Then, if you want to get fancy shmancy, you can also collect decorative labels and ribbons from the Dollar Tree and 99 Cent store as well.

1. Lip Scrub

What you will need (makes one serving): 1 container, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon coconut oil, and 2-3 drops of essential oil of your choosing.

How to make: Place coconut oil, sugar, and essential oil in bowl. Mix well (add sugar and coconut oil as needed to make right consistency). Transfer scrub into small container. Voila! Done!

*The container pictured above can be found in Walmart's travel section (where you find the travel size shampoos and what not)*

2. Sugar Scrub

What you will need (makes one jar): 1 mason jar, 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup coconut oil, and 10-12 drops of essential oil of your choice.

How to make: Mix sugar, coconut oil, and essential oil in a bowl (add sugar and coconut oil as needed to make right consistency). Transfer into mason jar. Voila! Done!

3. Bath Salt

What you will need (makes one serving): 1 clear ornament or mason jar, 1 cup epsom salt, and 10-12 drops of essential oil of your choice.

How to make: Mix epsom salt and essential oil in a bowl. Transfer into ornament (I use a funnel to do this). Voila! Done!

4. Headache Salve

What you will need (makes one serving): 1 container, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 1-2 drops of lavender essential oil.

How to make: Melt coconut oil in the microwave (about 10 seconds). Mix in essential oil. Pour liquid into container. Put into freezer for about one minute to set. Voila! Done!

5. Lib Balm

What you will need (makes one serving): 1 container, 1 tablespoon of petroleum jelly, and 1-2 drops of essential oil of your choosing.

How to make: Melt petroleum jelly l in the microwave (about 10 seconds). Mix in essential oil. Pour liquid into container. Put into freezer for about one minute to set. Voila! Done!

*BONUS* 6. The Box

When all else fails, just take a regular box and put this meme in it and wrap it. Voila! Done!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
