DIY Embroidery

In this article I am going to explain the simple steps to embroider a shirt, but really these steps can be used on any clothing item including pants, jean jackets, or sweatshirts.

This project was inspired by my friend Holli and it is something that we actually got to do and work on together. We were very slow, while crafting because we would watch movies, snack, and talk while we embroidered so it may of taken us about a month to actually finish this project but you totally could make it faster, maybe even within a few hours depending on what your embroidering an if you really focused.

Keep reading to find out the steps & of course to see pictures of the final product:

first you have to pick out what you are going to embroider

There are tons of ideas if you just google for it or look on Pinterest if you are needing inspiration.

Buy or find the following materials

Once you get your shirt or what ever you are choosing to embroider then you need to go and get the supplies. Me and Holli found our shirts from our local goodwill, because we didn't want to support fast fashion and because it was cheaper and then we headed to the store and picked up the thread and needle from the craft section.

finally start embroidering

if you are not familiar with this it is basically the same thing as sewing. You want to start you first stitch from the underneath part of your garment so you don't see the knot and then you just stitch up and down through the fabric to spell out the different words or to follow a pattern of your liking. If this is confusing you I am sure that you can easy google and find a tutorial of watching someone embroider on Youtube, but it is quite simple. I taught Holli how to sew for the first time just by making this shirt and hers came out amazing! If it helps you you can draw it on your garment prior of even just draw on a piece of paper and have that by your side you you can get the spacing right. But that also isn't necessary, I just free handed mine because I didn't care for it to be perfect! It is truly a Limited Edition piece.

Hope You enjoyed!! Also peep my other bestie Maddie & props to us for setting up a tripod and remote timer to take these pictures at 7am this weekend- GO Girls!!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
