Long-Distance Relationship: Difficult and Worthy.

Distance That Is Worth It
Andrew Ruiz

Hundred of miles between me and my other half. Yeah, there were many doubts and worries coming into this relationship, but now? Seeing each other becomes a very cherished moment. There are a lot of difficulties in our relationship, and sometimes it seems like an extremely lonely road to an impossible destination. That is just what comes with a long-distance relationship, and I knew that when I fell in love with you. I regret a lot of things in my past, but I will never regret messaging you first.

No matter how far apart we are, I find myself counting down until I see you again. Being in a long-distance relationship with the love of my life is a challenge that I will win. He makes it worth it. It puts our trust and love to the ultimate test, and we never fail to conquer the obstacles that come our way. However, there is a beauty to long-distance relationships. You have become my best friend, my rock, and my boyfriend.

A long-distance relationship with the right person makes the memories more meaningful, time more precious, and love more cherished. Thankfully, I can say that I found my right person. Yes, we are in a long-distance relationship and I would not trade it for anything in this world. Video chatting becomes an every night ritual, and phone calls are more valuable to us. Being in love with someone that is so far away has taught me to appreciate the simple things in life, especially every moment I am in his arms.

I know that when stressful moments happen, even though we are hundreds of miles apart, he will always be there for me and let me vent or cry to him. He has become my best friend. He is my better half. Being in a long-distance relationship has taught me that loyalty is crucial. He continuously gives me loyalty as a best friend and as a boyfriend. Being in a long-distance relationship with my soulmate taught me that the distance only brings up closer and makes us stronger. Even though there are hundreds of miles between us, it has taught me that life is better with him in it.

I want to say thank you. Thank you for all you do for me. Thank you for being my best friend and even better yet, my better half. Thank you for never giving up on me, even when the distance seems too much. You make sure I wake up with a smile on my face, and you make sure to video chat every single night. You never let me lonely or sad. Thank you for making me feel loved and wanted every day of my life. You are a one of a kind guy, and I am blessed to have fallen in love with you. Thank you for making this long-distance relationship completely worth it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
