This past weekend I was able to go back to my favorite place with one of my favorite people. My best friend and I flew out of Philadelphia airport early Thursday morning to go to Disney World. It was a VERY last minute idea that was definitely worth the money. We had an amazing time and made infinite amounts of memories.
I have always loved everything Disney. Almost all of my family vacations have been to Disney World, and it never gets old. Disney World's slogan is "The Most Magical Place On Earth." The more I visit, the more I realize that that is indeed true.
So many beautiful things happen at WDW. Children with foster families get adopted, couples get engaged, people announce pregnancies. If you have ever been there to witness any of the above, you'll understand when I say it is absolutely amazing. You feel the emotions that the people going through it feel. People come together to congratulate, help take pictures, or have conversations about each other's lives. The fact that it all happens in such a beautiful place is awesome.
Any character meet and greet is a one-way ticket for happiness. Besides the fact that you're waiting in line to take the cutest pictures with your favorite character, you get to watch small children interact with them. I love seeing babies and toddlers run up to a character screaming their name and hugging them. The pictures are adorable and it warms your heart.
All of Disney's rides are well-constructed, beautifully painted, and perfectly tell a story. Disney recently opened up Pandora, the world of Avatar. They built two new rides for the land, one called "Flight of Passage." The ride is absolutely breath-taking. It left me and everyone around me speechless. Disney has the ability to take a movie or show and completely immerse you in it, making you feel like you belong there. You can smell orange trees, feel water splashing on you, move with a Star Wars battleship. It's beyond unbelievable what Disney can do.
Disney puts on shows that keep you captivated. They have parades with catchy songs, firework shows that put tears in your eyes. Disney knows how to tug every single heartstring.
Of course, me talking about all of this does it not nearly enough justice until you see it yourself.
Disney World really is and always will be "The Most Magical Place On Earth."
