If you grew up watching the Disney channel in the early 2000s, there's no way you forgot these tunes. I remember re-watching episodes/movies with these songs over and over like they were the greatest thing in ever created. The music made it memorable, for better or for worse. Today, Disney just doesn't seem as captivating for kids as I remember it being for me when I was growing up. The jams and quite honestly the quality of the shows just don't seem to be the same anymore, or maybe I'm just being biased...but if your favorite Disney shows were on ABC early Sunday mornings, then you know you grew up during Disney's Prime. *insert sigh* Here are 5 throwback tunes from when Disney was at its best:
1. "Boyz N Motion"
"We are the Boyz N Motion...We give you our devotion." Who can forget Raven dressed as a boy pretending to be one of the members on stage and horribly failing?
2. "The Tide Is High"
"The tide is high, but I'm holding on....I'm gonna be your number one." Does this not scream Lizzie McGuire? I will always associate these lyrics with her falling after getting tangled in the shower curtain.
3. "The Proud Family" theme song
This was all of our jams...and Destiny's child sang it. Most iconic theme song.
4. "I Got Nerve"
My elementary school pump-up song. Not ashamed. I had the Hannah Montana boots and all.
5. "Fly"
Hilary Duff was my girl. She's the Disney singer; Always made me feel like I was 10 years older than I actually was and had me wondering why I didn't look as good in a basic tank top and jeans?
6. "Girl Power"
"Put your hands up if you know that you're a star" Why were the Cheetah girls so cool...my goal in life as a 10-year-old was to wear solid colored jogging suits complete with a matching headband and sing on the streets of Europe.
Ahh...the good old days. No one will ever have Disney as good as we had it.
