I did my first Disney College Program (DCP) Spring of 2017, and am now thinking of applying for a second program. Therefore all the nerves and questions are back! Applying for the DCP is a huge deal for many of us, it's a life-changing opportunity for anyone who gets in. After applying or even when preparing to apply a lot goes through your head!

1. Should I apply?

Yes, you should. If you are a college student at a university that offers the DCP go for it! it's an amazing experience and so much fun!

2. I need to watch anything and everything Disney, especially Vlogs!

One of my favorite things to watch is Disney vlogs. I was too chicken to vlog my first program but I love watching other people do it! It's the next best thing to being at a Disney Park in person.

3. Time to join the DCP Facebook pages.

The DCP Facebook pages are a great place to meet other people planning on doing the program and make new friends! It is also a great resource for any questions you may have about the application process as well as great support during the wait for acceptance.

4. DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY

It's easy to become obsessed with checking your email and checking the Facebook pages to see if anyone has gotten accepted yet. All you can think about is Disney once you've applied. You want this so bad and the dream is so close to becoming a reality.

5. Maybe if I check my email just one more time...

The waiting game is the hardest part of applying. Once you have made it to the web-based interview and then continued onto the phone interview and completed this all you have left to do is wait. I personally have waited to apply because I don't think I can handle the waiting for the waves of acceptances to start coming out, but that's just personal preference.

6. What if I don't get in?

If you don't get in don't give up. The last thing you want to do is give up on an opportunity like this, keep trying!

7. What if I do get in?

Your entire life will change if you get into the DCP. This is honestly scarier than if you don't get in, in my opinion. If you don't get in, nothing changes you keep living your life as usual, but if you do get in everything changes! You move away from your friends and family to this new and unfamiliar place. But when you do get in It's time to celebrate! Start those countdown calendars!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
