This article explains why Disney World isn't "just for kids" and what makes it appealing for adults and children alike. Ultimately, I hope to illustrate that the magic of Disney World can be felt by anyone. It doesn't matter if you are 2 years old or 92.

1. The rides.

While Disney World is not really known for its thrill rides, it does have some pretty great ones, such as Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and Test Track. Then, of course, it has the classics like It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, and Country Bear Jamboree, which a Disney World vacation is not complete without. There is a ride for everyone, and let's face it, all of the rides are fun.

2. The food.

There is something about the food at Disney World that makes it exceptionally good. Maybe it is because unlike other theme parks, Disney World offers so much more than just burgers and fries. For instance, you can get a lobster roll at Magic Kingdom or indulge in French cuisine at Epcot. Not to mention, they have some pretty great sweet treats as well, like the classic Mickey premium ice cream bar, the rose gold Minnie ears cupcake, and "Disneyfied" candy apples.

3. The fireworks.

The firework displays at Disney World are unlike any other. It truly is an attraction all on its own. Much like the rest of the vacation destination, the displays from each of the parks have a magical quality to them. The nightly fireworks, in addition to being pretty, can best be described as a production. They are set to music and lights and are sure to captivate the senses. Plus, it's a great way to cap off a great day at the parks.

3. The holiday traditions.

If you've never been to Disney World around the holidays, you really need to treat yourself. Every year at both Halloween and Christmas time, Disney World pulls out all the stops. From the amazing decorations to the special events, the resort goes all out for its guests, giving them a holiday season they'll never forget. Personally, the holiday decorations are my favorite, because they add an extra special bit of holiday magic to the "happiest place on Earth". Plus, how can you talk about the holidays at Disney World without talking about the "Disneyfied" holiday treats that the parks boast? Just imagine a Santa Mickey caramel apple. How cute is that?!

4. The nostalgia.

There is something so nostalgic about Disney World! For instance, you'll never forget the first time you walked down Main Street and saw Cinderella's Castle. Each time you take that walk, you can't help but remember the first time you saw the castle off in the distance and how amazed you were. Disney is a place where lasting memories are made, and no matter how many times you go, it always feels like you've stepped back in time and you are a child all over again, experiencing the magic of Disney for the first time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
