Some people are raised in healthy environments and are given the opportunities to feel confident in their own skin and can feel beautiful. Others are raised in a household that gives a lifestyle leading kids to be more susceptible to shying away. This environment takes away chances they could be given, and they often do not feel comfortable being themselves or accentuating their natural beauty.
As I have experienced in my four years of high school and as I have just finished up my first year of college, I have seen and been a part of many lives who have struggled to see their worth; but I have also come across people who, with a little love and friendship, can eventually see their true beauty and worth in life. As a young female, I think it is important for girls to feel confident and loved in who they are and to find a way to exert that onto their everyday life.
In my mind, a major key to finding your natural beauty is getting involved in something you are passionate about. It also means going out of your comfort zone to discover a new passion or meet others who can pull out your best features. People who will pick you up and encourage positive development in natural confidence are who you want to be surrounded by. They will help bring out the beauty you can't find on your own. Natural beauty entails more than any physical characteristics. True beauty sprouts from confidence, happiness, a real smile, a gleam in your eye when talking about a passion, or rocking those big, naturally tangled curls on your head.
To the girl who doesn't know her beauty:
Don't lose hope if you can't find it. No matter your age or where you are at in life, search to find your beauty and don't give up until you can smile a real smile and laugh comfortably. If you find yourself falling back in a patch of losing sight of yourself and not feeling pretty, remember what you were rooted in before and who you can surround yourself with to help truly make you your best self.
