In my opinion, these digital trends in 2022 have different hype. Here are a few predictions for digital marketing in 2022.

The Metaverse :

In the metaverse, people work, play, and socialize in augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D holographic avatars, and video-not just one-off experiences like in gaming, but a persistent ecosystem.

Patrick Casey, director of growth marketing at digital health brand Felix Health, says brands should consider this virtual space and the use of metaverse development services as a part of their 2022 marketing strategies.

Short, DIY videos :

Social media has shifted from status updates and curated photo grids to short video posts with TikTok. Other platforms jumped on the bandwagon, with Instagram launching its Reels feature and Youtube leaning into short videos.

In short videos, we emphasize our fast-paced consumption pattern and the need for simple, brief messages or content that asks us to participate-whether it's learning a new dance joining a challenge, or taking part in surveys and polls.

The neutrality of gender:

Brands such as Old Navy and Pacific Sunwear released gender-neutral clothing collections in 2021. Inclusion is becoming more popular. Managing director of web design firm Midas Creative, Damien Buxton, believes that brands will increasingly move away from traditional gender roles to avoid alienating their customers. "The dynamics of households and people have changed and are continuing to change," he said. "Marketing will become gender-neutral and less focused on preconceived ideas of what sex an individual is and what they should see."

Simple content :

Last but not least, while content marketing has long been a cornerstone of digital marketing, 2022 will be the year marketers embrace simplicity and clarity in content. According to Hilda Wong, content agency Content Dog, the internet is now flooded with content. It would be best if you stood out from the crowd so that your content is noticed in the first place. How do brands accomplish this? They don't need flowery prose. Content needs to be precise. "It doesn't have to be difficult. The general public needs to understand it. Explicit content will be more effective."
