After a full year of papers, tests, exams, quizzes, and just about everything else professors have thrown at you, the end of the school year is finally upon us. Each day ticks away until your exams are finally over and you can relax and do what you have planned for the summer. As the days go on, there are some of the thoughts you probably had waiting for summer.

1. "I’m going to plan all of my trips now!”

When the summer gets near, all you might be able to think about is all the great trips that you may or may not be taking this summer. Of course there are about a million places that you will want to go on vacation but in reality, you might go on one. In your head, however, you’ll start to plan these elaborate trips. You might even go so far as to look up the prices for everything, and then promptly shut your laptop because of how expensive every possible trip might be.

2. "Can we be done yet?”

I mean, lets face it. The closer we get to the end of the year, the less likely we are going to pay attention in class. So at that rate, we should just go ahead and wrap everything up nice and neat and just call it quits on this semester. Nothing is going to get done and all the final papers or projects won’t be near as good as they were at the beginning of the year or semester. Just calling it quits will be better for absolutely everyone, I promise.

3. "I can totally miss out a few things, my grades aren’t that bad, right?”

Procrastination, at this point, starts playing a huge role in your life. So now you’ve probably started thinking about how many absences you have versus what your grade is in the class to see if you should miss the class that you so desperately want to miss.

4. "It’s almost over! Until I have to do this again next year . . . “

Nothing is more satisfying than getting to the end of a semester and having that beautiful feeling of relief. You always know that there will always be more to do, but once you realize that it will actually happen, it just makes you sad again.

Towards the end of each school year and semester you start thinking about all the great things you’ll do once you’re done. Whether you will go on trips, stay inside the whole time, or even work, you’ll be able to relax at least a little more than you would be if you were doing constant schoolwork. So as the year winds down, enjoy your summer and all that may come with it. Until the next paper!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
