6 Reasons Why It's Good To Go To A Different College Than Your BFF
Savanna Stevie

I used to think it was going to be the end of our friendship when I realized my best friend and I were both going to different colleges. We were used to seeing each other every day of the week, always having something fun to do up our sleeves. Now, being in college for two years has helped me gain insight that this is the best thing for us. We are closer together nowadays than we ever have been before. We have grown and matured, but will always be two partners in crime and best friends forever.

1. We get to plan weekend trips to visit each other

We will never have a boring weekend again because one of us will almost always be visiting the other. I get to show you around my city, and you get to show me yours.

2. I have two schools to cheer for now

I will always bleed blue, but when I am visiting, I have two teams I can go crazy over and get the chance to wear a color other than blue. Not only is it the different colors we get to wear, but we get double the tailgates.

3. Distant makes it that much more exciting to see each other

Yes, it sucks because we were so used to seeing each other every day of the week and telling each other everything, but we had to learn to make every moment count when seeing each other. We can start right back where we left off like we saw each other yesterday because that is the kind of friends we are.

4. Summertime is our time

When summer hits, we both know that we will be seeing a lot of each other. Even if we do both live in different cities, driving is not a problem for us. We also get to look forward to every weekend because we have the river we both go to.

5. FaceTime becomes very important

Since we don't get to see each other every day, FaceTiming one another is our way of hanging out. We still get to vent and talk to each other, but we do it without actually having to drive anywhere.

6. We have grown closer to one another

It is crazy to say, but I truly believe we have gotten closer since we both started at different colleges. Yes, we used to be with each other every single day back in high school, but now as we get older, we see that distance has nothing on our friendship, and that shows how strong it is. We deal with real problems now, and you still are the first person I call when I need advice or to rant. Nothing has changed except the strength of our friendship.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
