I think we can all agree that Die Hard is a true classic movie that everyone should watch at one point in their life, but the controversy comes when you ask if it is a Christmas movie or not. If you ask me, Die Hard is a movie that should be enjoyed during the holiday season because, FOR SURE, it is a Christmas movie.
If you haven't ever watched Die Hard, now is the perfect time to snuggle up in front of the fireplace and sip on a mug of hot chocolate and turn it on. But if you haven't even HEARD of Die Hard, I'll fill you in. It takes place in Los Angeles where Bruce Willis, an NYPD cop, is visiting his wife at her office Christmas party. Of course, something goes totally wrong and I won't spoil it, but this movie definitely is not for kids.
Now that that's over with, let me explain why Die Hard is my favorite Christmas movie. For one, it takes place on Christmas Eve, so obviously it's got some merry influences.
John McClain giving some Santa Claus realness.
Remember this warm welcome? The spirit of Christmas is showing warmth to everyone, including cops.
John gets it! Christmas is the time for friends and family to spend valuable time together!
Argyle knew how to properly jam out to some Christmas tunes.
No Hans, it's Christmas, there are never enough jokes. This is definitely the main reason why Hans is the villain in this movie.
And of course, there's a super happy ending, just like in all Christmas movies. Peace is restored in LA, Bruce is reunited with his wife, and the bad guys are all dead.
Merry Christmas, but really, Happy Holidays to everyone.
