We all know the saying diamonds are a girl’s best friend but has anyone ever really stopped to think about that? What makes a diamond a girl’s best friend? Diamonds are beautiful and close to perfect but, in my eyes, that is my mom. She is beautiful, different, and rare just like a diamond. She is her own person. Many times, when a girl gets a diamond ring or anything with a diamond in it, they look at it as a gift of love and affection. When I look at my mom all I see is love. The love that she has given me throughout the years of my life is much more than any diamond could ever provide me with. Often when a girl receives a diamond it makes them feel lucky, important, and cared for. However, I have always felt like the luckiest girl in the world just by being chosen to be my mom’s daughter. I have never doubted that she cares for me because she has always made that evident in my life. She has been my biggest fan throughout every success and failure in my life.
She has encouraged me to become the best person that I can be. My mother does more for me in one day than some people do for others in their entire lives. Because of her, I have never been without a best friend. Throughout my life, I have been taught to love others and support them in the good and bad times just as she has done for me. I am who I am because there is so much of her in me. If my future child sees me as half the mom I see mine as, then I will be forever blessed. I could not have asked for a more perfect mother. She will always be worth more than anything to me. There is no bigger compliment to me than someone saying I am just like my mom. I could never imagine wanting to be like anyone else.
My mother is without a doubt my inspiration, my role model, and my hero. She is the one person who has been here since my first breath. She has never left my side and even the times that I’ve left hers, she has always been nearby. She has watched me grow up and taught me the best things in life. She has given me more love than I could have ever imagined and to be her daughter is the biggest blessing I could ever receive. Even though I hope to one day receive a beautiful diamond from the love of my life, my point is that I will love the person who gave it to me more. A diamond is a symbol of love and my mother has always been my symbol of love. She is selfless. She is beautiful. She is strong. She is courageous. She is my diamond. Diamonds aren’t a girl’s best friend, moms are!
