5 Desserts That Will Please Any Crowd

Hosting people is hard enough as is when it comes to planning the party or event and cleaning your house to make sure you're comfortable with people seeing it. Then you have to worry about the menu to feel those people. Regardless of how much you love them, sometimes it's really hard to please everyone that you're hosting for the evening. As if what your feeding them isn't hard enough, it's almost unfathomable that you have to then think about dessert for after dinner. Here are a few crowd favorites that are basic enough that anyone could make, and will make most people happy at any occasion.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is the most basic type of dessert that pleases most people in any room. It could take a little bit of time to bake these from scratch, however, there are plenty of easy bake and prepared kinds in every grocery store. If you're going to bake from scratch, Nestle Toll House is one of the best. If you're into a more organic route and already made dough, Annie's is absolutely delicious.

Brownies

Most people love the chocolate that a brownie offers and they're usually cut small enough that no one feels like it's too much for after dinner. Depending on your crowd, you can add chocolate chips to them, add decorations on top, or make blondie brownies. Most boxed brownies actually turn out pretty good for any occasion or you can pick up some fancy ones from any bakery.

Ice Cream

Sounds silly but make an ice cream bar and most guests will love it, especially if there are children involved. Sometimes after dinner things tend to lag a little bit. People are done eating and they're unsure if anything else is planned or when they should start to wrap things up to head home. An ice cream bar is a super simple way to add some extra entertainment to the end of the night while still getting to the next phase before wrapping everything up. Plus, it's always fun to pick out all of the toppings that your guests will use.

Coffee Cake

This one sounds a little weird as a dessert at the end of the night, but it's perfect for when your guests aren't necessarily chocolate fans. It's a cake-like dessert without baking or serving a full cake and is light enough that they won't feel stuffed. This is also a great option for when you want multiple desserts or when you're not sure your guests will even eat dessert.

Apple Pie

There are certain pies that are fan favorites and that most people tend to like. Apple pie is one of those pies. Apple pie is also great because it can be served with any of the above desserts and doesn't clash with any of them. It's a great option for when you want multiple desserts that are a variety instead of just brownies and cookies.

There are plenty of other desserts out there that people will be happy with, but these are definitely the few that most crowds will pick at or will want after a night of eating.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
