It's been quite a week of nostalgia for me. Between learning that Marnie and Kal are still going strong as a couple to finding out Dennis Quaid's new fiancee, Laura Savoie (who, like me, is 26 years old... I know, wild), looks like she's straight out of "The Parent Trap," I can't help but be
a little envious.
Sure, the age difference between the two is giant. Even Dennis's half-brother Randy thinks so. But to be honest... Dennis (yes, in my mind we're on a first-name basis) is a 65-year-old stud and I don't blame Laura for falling in love with him.
I mean, I've loved him for the entirety of my 26 years on this planet. OK OK, maybe just since I saw him play Nick Parker — so only 21 years, but the point is: I get it.
So, honestly, good for Laura. And GOOD FOR HIM.
With the confirmation of the couple's engagement, though, Elaine Hendrix — better known as the Meredith Blake who did not get along with Nick Parker's "bratty" twin daughters, Hallie and Annie James (Lindsay Lohan), in "The Parent Trap" — had the most epic reaction:
Watch out for those twins. 👯♀️ https://t.co/Rloat1gLCy

The best part? Dennis actually has twins in real life, so Elaine's response — though a joke — was truly perfect. Of course, in the movie, Nick ends up leaving Meredith for his twin's mother, Elizabeth James. So here's hoping Dennis doesn't end up going back to his real-life twin's mother to really live out this "Parent Trap" plot.
As long as Laura doesn't threaten to ship his kids off to Switzerland, though, I'm rooting for them.
(If it doesn't work out though... I'm next in line).
