In case you missed it, singer/songwriter, self-proclaimed feminist, and advocate for mental health Demi Lovato had responded to a fan's tweet which asked Demi for the funniest prank that she had pulled.
Now, if you're expecting something actually, you'll be sadly mistaken like the rest of the world.
Demi responded to that tweet saying that she had hired a sex worker to go into her bodyguard's room (without his permission) and had grabbed his 'area', leading him to, of course, freak out.
So, according to Demi Lovato, sexual assault is funny. But, if it was a male sex worker sexually assaulting a woman, the tables would be completely turned and I'm sure Demi would have a lot to say about that, but because it was a man and her bodyguard, it's funny and it's OK that it happened, right? Wrong.
She had mentioned that if she tweeted about jelly beans that people would still be offended, but imagine comparing sexual assault and jelly beans. Kinda like apples and oranges, right? And then she had mentioned that her song "Warrior" and told people to listen to it and said she of all people know about sexual abuse all too well.
So, let me get this straight, Demi had possibly been a victim of sexual abuse but yet still thought it was funny enough to hire a sex worker, send them to the room of her bodyguard, put the sex worker at risk for being physically harmed, and have them grab the man in his 'area'?
Demi, if someone hired a sex worker to come to your room uninvited to grab you without your permission, would it be a funny joke to you then? Oh and, by the way, because you know about sexual assault and seem to have been a victim of it, you should've known better.
Next time, if you're going to tweet something like that, ACTUALLY apologize rather than saying "So sorry if..."
Maybe Demi does need to be educated after all...
