A Definitive Rating Of Our Favorite TV Moms

With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, there's never been a better time to praise your momma. Its even better to praise your momma every single day, because all of your mothers are kicking ass! With all this reflecting, I thought it was a good time to praise the TV mothers who helped raise us.

1. Bow from "Black-ish"

Sure, she's a little high-strung sometimes but what mother wouldn't be? Parenting comes with a lot of parental anxiety and she's also a doctor and cooks and cleans. Plus, she always keeps it real.

2. Madeline from "Big Little Lies"

She's not perfect, but she knows that. She'll do anything for her friends and family. And she's not afraid to be silly and creative with the kids.

3. Jean from "Freaks and Geeks"

Jean Weir deserved way more screen time--as did the entire series. She was always there to help Lindsay and Sam and even the Freaks and the Geeks.

4. Aunt Viv from "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"

Television's best Mother-Figure. The original, of course.

5. Linda from "Bob's Burgers"

Linda Belcher is all of us. Enough said.

6. Roseanne from "Roseanne"

Roseanne kept it real AF.

7. Morticia from "The Addams Family"

Morticia Addams needs no explanation.

8. Cersi from "Game of Thrones

She may be evil, but everything she did was to try and protect her children while they were still alive. She straight up murdered people for her children.

9. Lorelei from "Gilmore Girls"

Okay so maybe she doesn't have it all figured out, but who does? Lorelei is always there for Rory, and all of us, whenever we need her.

10. Lisa from "Sister, Sister"

She might have been a little wacky, but she brought so many laughs to "Sister, Sister" and even many uplifting moments for Tia and Tamera like this one.

11. Amy Matthews from "Boy Meets World"

She always did steer her children in the right direction, whether they were her biological kids or Topanga, Shawn or Jack.

12. Lucy from "I Love Lucy"

Lucy was America's first television mother, in the wake of TV as a form, and continues to be an American staple over 50 years later.

13. Kris from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians"

Whether we like it or not, the Kardashians are America's version of the Royal family. Even if you have never seen the show, the family dominates pop culture media and even mainstream news. If you don't know anything about Kris Jenner, you probably do not use the internet and live under a rock.

14. Lucille from "Arrested Development"

She is the worst and the best. Goals.

15. Jessica from "Fresh Off the Boat"

She's always saying what we are all thinking.

16. Bobbi from "Broad City"

Sure, we've only had the privilege of seeing Bobbi Wexler in a couple episodes but she is as entertaining as Ilana, if not more. Here's to hoping we see more of her in season 4, this summer!

Happy Mother's Day!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
