It’s December! So you know what that means. Yes, Christmas is coming (RIP to my bank account). But, that’s not all it has to offer. Because December is the last month of the year, you’ll get the chance to make sure whatever happened in 2017 stays in 2017. You may have an ex-lover that you’re trying to get over, a bad friend you can’t seem to get rid of or just bad energy in general. Instead of waiting until the new year begins, make December the month to start moving on.
Most people like to think January is the best time for a clean slate. But if you go into the new year with all of the drama and negativity from last year, what good is it to start the year like that? I mean come on, do you really want to start your new year getting over the last guy that screwed you over? No! Start now!
You might be thinking that since there are only a few weeks of the month left, I’ll start in January. It’ll be a new year and a new me. Stop being basic with the “New year, new me” bullshit. We all know it’s going to be January 1st, you’re going to be hungover and you’ll say, “I’ll start tomorrow.” Before you know it, it’s July, and you’re still dealing with the same issues as you were in February of 2017.
You still have a few weeks to pick yourself up and get back to the real you. Remember the bad ass bitch who doesn’t need a man or anyone for that matter to make her happy? You can still get her back and just in time to start the new year in a happy and healthy manner.
If it’s a bad friend that you’re dealing with, the best advice I can give is to either hash things out and try to mend the friendship, or just end the friendship right here and right now. Friends come and go, and odds are you’re going to make better friends as life goes on that won’t screw you over.
Don’t let anyone or anything stop you from making the right decision for yourself. Make it a point to start facing the issue head-on and confronting your problems as soon as they appear. I promise you your life will be less stressful, and you’ll be able to start feeling stronger in yourself and get what you actually deserve.
Stop your crying and look at your calendar! Think of all the wonderful positive possibilities that the new year has to offer.
I like to think of January as a clean slate. Waking up, knowing it’s a new year really makes me feel like I can reinvent myself. I always wonder where the year will lead. Every time I come the end of the year I reflect and look back at everything I wish I would’ve left in the year before. Who wants to look back with regret? (Hopefully, you answered with, “Not me.”)
Don’t wait until the last minute to start changing your life and bringing more positivity to it. Get rid of all the toxins, i.e. crappy friends, fuckboys, bad habits, the list goes on. Make December "move on" month, and make January a new chapter in your book of life. At the end of next year, you’ll be able to look back and be thankful that you did.
