Dear Mom And Dad, Please Know These 7 Things
Caela McLoughlin

Dear Mom & Dad,

First and foremost, I want you to know how much I admire you and the life you've built together.

1. I don't think there's ever been a time that I didn't look up to both of you.

More than that, I've always looked at the love you two have for each other after all these years and thought, "I can't wait to someday have something like that."

2. You two are a team.

You don't always agree on things, you don't always see eye to eye, but you always sit down to talk things out and have always made the best decision for our family. You always found a way to communicate not just with each other but with myself and my two brothers about things going on. You always did it with such care and love in your hearts that I don't remember ever thinking, "Why would they say that?" because you always made sure we knew why you did what you did.

3. The two of you bring out the best in each other.

Individually, you're incredible humans. You put others first, your family first, your friends first and you're each a blast to be around. Everyone in your lives admire you, but when you're together, it's a whole other story. You two bring out the light in each other. You bring out the fun in each other. You compliment each other and you light up a room when you're together. There's no better duo that I can think of when it comes to a marriage because you two are my relationship goals.

4. I want you to know that I strive every day to make you proud.

That's all I want... For the two of you to have a daughter that you can talk about and be excited to share things about. I don't want to ever disappoint you because I think it'd break my heart if I did. I want to always be a good person because that's who you raised me to be and I want to have a kind heart like each of you do.

5. I hope you know that the two of you are my heroes.

You always know the right things to say in situations and always show me a side of things that I didn't think to look at before. You always manage to make things better, whether it's a bad day or a stressful situation. You never ask for anything in return and are always willing to keep giving and helping. It's inspiring and I can only hope that one day, I'm even a quarter of the parent that either of you was. I don't think I'll ever measure up, but I promise to always try.

6. On top of the millions of other great things I could say about you two, you're just fun to be around.

I can roll around laughing just hanging out with you two, and to me, that's so important. Knowing that I can come home and our family can all just enjoy each other's company is a true testament to what a great job you two did raising myself and my two brothers. We always said family is the most important thing in the world and you've always done an amazing job at keeping us all together no matter what is going on around us.

7. I love you both so much.

I admire you both so much. You're my rocks, my inspiration, my best friends, my heroes, my confidants, and my parents. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being a team and thank you for always loving me.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
