An Open Letter To TSA Officers During The Holiday Travel Rush

You wouldn't be rude to someone coming into your house, so don't be rude to people going into your airport.

Before I begin my rant, I do want to thank you for all the hard work you do, but with that being said, I would really love it if you could be nicer.

It is so unsettling going to the airport and getting in that long security line just to be treated like s**t by the officers in control. If you really don’t like your jobs that much, do something else. I don’t understand working with people if you don’t like people. I mean why would you work in an airport where you know you'll have to deal with all different kinds of people every day?

I’m sure since TSA workers are familiar with airports they might not understand how scary and confusing traveling can be. Especially getting yelled at while going through security.

When I first traveled alone I had no clue what I was doing or where I was going. I remember after waiting in the long line to reach security I had forgotten to take out my ID. The lady checking ID's made it clear I was a slow poke and had no idea what I was doing. She was not patient and sat there rolling her eyes.

Traveling is supposed to be fun and happy, and I get it, as a TSA officer you might not travel, so maybe you're envious of the people who do. However, it's not fair that you become a Debby Downer to all the people coming through your lines.

I know you want to be the big guy in charge and you want to run the show, but if I ask you, “do I need to take off my sweatshirt?" I don’t need a smart ass answer in response. A simple, “yes, please," would be totally acceptable.

I’m not saying all TSA officers are terrible. I’ve had great ones! In fact, when I was traveling through the Boston airport the officer teased me all the way through. He was hilarious! He truly made my traveling experiences more enjoyable. I do thank you very much for protecting everyone traveling via airplane but give us a little respect, please!

Thanks.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
