Dear Snapchat, I Don't Care About What The Kardashians Are Doing

I want to see reports about something real instead of a hot celebrity.

Dear Snapchat,

I'll be honest, I never go to the Discover page. I never see what is going on, but I don't need to. The articles that are on the Discover page are on a featured section with all of my friend's stories, so I get to see the headlines. There are also some stories from all over the world. Most of the time they're interesting, but they're usually from shows or sporting events.

Anyway, I've never met someone who hasn't heard of Snapchat, and the majority of my generation uses it regularly. So, your articles and stories must get a lot of attention, but how come they never have any real news? A few times there have been some news pieces like when the Manchester Bombing happened, but there really aren't that many news stories.

Most of the articles are usually about whatever new thing the Kardashians are doing or some dating advice. I really don't care that Kylie Jenner bought a really expensive bathing suit then had a photoshoot in it. She's rich; that's what rich people do. I also see articles titled something like, "12 Disgusting Things All Girls Do." Most of the time, they're too gross for me to even finish the article, and some of the stuff hasn't even crossed my mind before.

I know I'm not going to agree with everything written in them, but at least report something real - not pictures of celebrity who is having a wardrobe malfunction. It happens to all of us, so why does the whole world need to see half-naked pictures a paparazzi took of a celebrity trying to enjoy their vacation? My point is, I don't care, and I've never met someone who actually does care about that stuff.

I want to read about something real, and I think it would help educate some of your users about what is going on around the world. I'm not saying people are naive or uneducated about certain topics, but you can never have enough information, ya know? I understand some people may use Snapchat as a way to escape politics and current events, but they don't have to read the articles if they do not want to just like I don't have to read about the Kardashians. Some of us may want to read about more important topics, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

In lieu of recent events, I have not seen a single article about the issues we are having with North Korea or even the protests in Charlottesville, VA. Both of which are extremely important topics that should be talked about and people should be given the opportunity to read about it. When there is a political article posted, you have to scroll through all of the other nonsense articles to find it; it shouldn't be that way.

So please, give me something real and not another stupid quiz that means nothing or another article about relationships. I simply do not care.

Sincerely,

An Avid Snapchat User

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
