Dear Senator Elizabeth Warren
The New Yorker

Dear Senator Elizabeth Warren,

My name is Ceila. Undergrad junior, history and philosophy double major. You are a huge inspiration and I absolutely appreciate how you so often stood by your values, called out the villains and made it your priority to fight for humanity. However, recently during an interview with Rachel Maddow, you endorsed Wall Street leech, Hillary Clinton.

Clinton, although recently viewed as progressive, has been known to support war efforts, segregation, homophobia and rapists. "Rapists" sounds bit harsh, you might say. However, her defense of a rapist in 1975 proved she wasn't concerned with the 12-year old girl who was raped by the middle aged man. Clinton ensured he would not face jail time. Clinton's response to her defense of this man was disturbing, as she justified his ensured freedom as, "I fulfilled an obligation." She fulfilled an obligation, and solely an obligation for a paycheck. Not an obligation to humanity, to the children, teens and adults who have been raped, nor to the millions of people facing copious amounts of injustice daily.

Now, for someone who is running for the President of an entire country, ethics and values are a foundation of candidacy. Or at least they should be. Senator Warren, up until recently, I am sure you would have also agreed. However, with your recent endorsement of injustices, it seems as though money is the only foundation you need. I will no longer continue to stand by you if you cannot and will not stand by what is right. You have endorsed Hillary Clinton and have shown that you will give into Wall Street, even after building your entire career on endorsing the truth, more specifically not Wall Street.

I understand you have pressure on you. I am a mere writer and even I have pressure to write political things that others want to hear, the delusion, the greed. However, I have done what you have always done and stood by the truth. No matter the amount of ignorant backlash, I have and will always stand by the side of humanity and fight for what is right. I cannot begin to imagine the amount of pressure you feel, as you are a Senator. They probably even threatened your job. However, I can assure you that you have the support of millions. We believe in the stance you worked so hard and long to achieve. You have fought for us and we fought for you.

You are not fighting for humanity if you endorse rape culture, greed and genocide, three very important characteristics of the Clinton Administration. A Twitter war with a five-year old who just happened to stumble on a platform is not fighting for humanity; Your constant demand for truth and justice was. As someone who is so desperately seeking to see a brighter tomorrow, it is disappointing that someone who has fought for so long actually is willing to abandon their beliefs for a paycheck. When you endorse Hillary, you tell us that we should give in, to ignore your pleads to fight for justice, because in the end, we simply are just a pawn in the game of politics.

Much love,

Ceila

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
