Dear Self-Righteous Friend,
We've been friends for years now. I see you often and I value your friendship and support. You were there for me when no one else was, and I’ll never forget that.
But you have to get over yourself.
I can't believe you would say the things you said to me tonight. Quite frankly, I thought we got past the point when your religious ideals got in the way of our friendship.
But we haven't. And that hurts me.
Forgive me for being distant for a while, but I can’t be stuck in this strange in-between world, with our friendship on one side and your prejudice on the other.
You have to decide whether or not you are going to love people for who they are, or if you are going to sit in the front row of a church and comfort yourself with the knowledge that the pews in a building will save you.
They won’t.
