A Thankful Letter To the Greatest, Most Supportive, Most Loving Parents

Dear Parents
Me

Dear Mom and Dad,

I cannot thank you for all that you do for me. I honestly don’t know even where to start, whether it’s paying for college or supporting me throughout all of my endeavors. You mean the world to me and not until this year of college have I begun to appreciate everything that you have not only done for me, but also for my future, for my wellbeing, for my friends, everything.

Mom, there is nothing I miss more than waking up on Saturday mornings. I miss you attacking me, tickling me until I wake up to go with you to your yoga classes. I miss cooking healthy quinoa and tofu with you. I have never appreciated all of the happiness that you have brought into my life. I can’t wait to come home to go to more aerial yoga classes, to drag you to various food places, or just to cuddle with you.

Not only have you made my world incredible, but you go out of your way to make all of my friends happier. Whether it’s cooking my friends' favorite dishes for when they come over, or taking my best friends out to brunch for their birthdays, you are amazing. I cannot even begin to thank you for the less obvious things, like funding all the extravagant things I do.

Dad, thanks for keeping me intellectual. Without you, I wouldn't have learned math starting at the young age of 2, where you began to force to me to do addition and subtraction. You have driven to me to pursue an academic career. Thank you for checking up on me, enabling my online shopping habit, and being there to call when I need help making the big decisions or when I just need someone to talk to. Even though you let me only visit one school during college touring, and that you reminded me about how the freshmen 15 are very real, you keep it real.

I cannot thank you in the slightest for all that you have done. Without my parents, I would not be the driven, mannered, intellectual individual that I have become today. Parents enable their children to rise to their potential, to reach for the stars. Despite all of the stress, the laughs, the tears, the screams, you have become the most important in the world to me. I hope that you are always my best friends forever.

I cannot even thank you enough,

Surabhi

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
