Dear Lauren,

I can't believe that you are graduating from College!! That's a crazy thing to think about. I just wanted to say that I am so proud of you for following your dream of becoming a teacher. I am so proud that in the fall students will get to walk into your classroom, and you will get to make a difference in their lives.

I wish I could be there to see the looks on there faces as they meet you at back to school night. I know are going to do amazing things and be such a huge blessing for all of the students. For now, I just wanted to thank you.

Thank you for always standing by my side,

Thank you for texting me just because you wanted to check in and make sure I was doing well.

Thank for all the selfies we took at Arkansas football games, I loved playing with the snap chat filters.

Thank you for listening to me complain about that one guy who couldn't seem to figure out what he wanted.

Thank you for visiting me even if it was just for a day! That day meant the world to me.

Thank you for introducing me to 7 Brew! It has been a real life changer!

Thank you for stepping up when I told you transitioning to college was a lot harder than I expected.

Thank you for being a second sister to me! I love you more than words can describe.

Thank you for trying on the pink prom dress, when I know you really didn't want to.

But, most importantly thank you for being you.

I would not be who I am without you by my side through this entire journey. Because of you, I am a stronger, and better person. I know these last four years have not been easy but I know that for you the future just keeps getting brighter. I love you, Lauren Rachel Turner! Now go change the world!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
