Dear Mr. Ocean,
Are you lost at sea, buddy? Sorry to throw that little pun in there, but seriously, where are you? There should be at least 500 search parties looking for you by now. Myself, along with millions of other people all over the world, are huge fans of your musical genius-self. You write songs that make people feel exactly what you are feeling. Obviously, you are also an insane singer, so that is just another reason why you are so missed. The fans miss your voice and need something new. Frank, homie, it has been four years.
To remind you, in July of 2015, fans all across the world were told a new album would be released. We waited and waited and even waited way past the point of the album delay being somewhat acceptable. Did we ever get that new album? I think we both know the answer to that. As a huge supporter of you, I was extremely excited and ready for my ears and soul to be blessed. Yes, of course we all love Channel Orange. The whole world loved it. It won the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album, very well deserved by the way. However, that doesn't excuse the fact that Channel Orange was released in 2012and we have yet to receive anything new since then.
2016 is the year of music and you need to contribute to the craziness. Beyonce, Kanye, Drake, and Chance all released new albums. These albums are insane and could be some of the artists' best work. Chance's new album is beautiful and many fans think you two should collaborate together. Beyonce and Kanye basically made people get Tidal just to listen to their iconic albums. When, and if, you ever give us a new album, please do us a favor and do not use Tidal. We all just want to hear the music without having to sign up for some weird app. Frank, we know you are out there somewhere. We all heard you on Kanye's album. You sounded like an angel. Stop hiding from us and give the people what they want.
People are starting to give up on you, Frank. Some people are saying maybe you were just a figment of our imagination. One can only listen to the same album for so long before going slightly insane. The fans understand that you are a perfectionist and perfection takes time. However, don't promise people an album in July 2015. By now, it's like July 252nd and still no album to be heard.
You are simply winning the longest game of hide-and-seek ever. People have made memes about you. Your career is becoming a joke. That was a little harsh but it has been four years. FOUR YEARS. The world is ready for you and your music. It is just a matter of time now before the album is released and everything is right again.
The purpose of this whole letter is simply to say how much your fans, including myself, miss your satisfying, relaxing music. Sierra Leone, Sweet Life, and Pyramids will continue to play every day until you decide to make the world a better place. Hope to hear from you soon!
