Dear Philadelphia Eagles,

Congratulations, you won your season opener. New coach, new quarterback, and you still managed to pull off quite an impressive win. As I sat here in my dorm, some 200 miles away, decked out in all the Eagles garb I managed to pack, I got more and more excited to see that number next to Philly keep going up. So yes, Eagles, today was good.

But, let's get real. You're from Philly. As a lifelong Philly fan, I know the drill - it goes something like this: have low expectations. Now, don't get me wrong, I will fight off every Giants fan who asks me how many Superbowl Titles we've won, or every Redskins fan who makes some snide remark about Philly fans, or every Cowboy fan who does, well, whatever Cowboys fans do. But, between you and me, it's getting old. So let's switch it up. Let's keep this streak going and come out strong.

Now, Doug. You're the big man in charge. You hold the faith of the country's most dedicated fans in your palms....don't screw up. In my opinion, that part of your job won't be too hard and you can thank Mr. Kelly for that. But, you still are in somewhat of a shadow of Andy Reed, who we loved. Andy was a great guy, he and McNabb were near-golden, but feel free to raise the bar. We would more than welcome it. But good job today and welcome to the City of Brotherly Love.

Carson, Carson, Carson. I have faith in you. But, a lot of people, and by a lot I mean tons of people, are doubting you. Fair enough, after all, you didn't exactly have the ideal preseason we were hoping to see, you're young, you were recently injured, and you have a new coach. But, props to you for pulling off the game today. No interceptions, 300 yards, and a win - that's a combination we like to see. Don't let this go to your head though, after all you were playing the Browns. It's cool that you beat RGIII in your first NFL start, but, again, it is the Browns, so let's keep our head in the game and be ready for a bigger man[ning].

And since I knew you guys are pretty wrapped up in your own training, and some of you are even new to the city, let me give you a low down on what we Phanatics need to go through. We'll start with basketball, since that's easy to explain. We aren't good. For a team with a history of greats like Iverson, Mutombo, and Dawkins, we are just straight up bad. Hockey, we've been getting there; last year we gave some teams a run for their money, but nonetheless we fell short of anything impressive. Phillies were good. October 29th, 2008 should be a holiday in Philadelphia, but ever since that World Series Championship, we haven't been so hot. Actually, today, when you guys won, they fell short by one point.

So, I ask you as a fan, to please, finally, make this a great year. I know projections are low, odds are against us, and you guys may still be adjusting, but Philly has Phaith in you guys. So fly, Eagles, fly, on the road to victory - all the way this time.

E A G L E S EAGLES!

P. S. Cody Parkey, you just keep doing you. Keep KICKIN' butt and being gorgeous.

Sincerely,

A Hopeful Fan

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
