Dear Dorm Moms,
I honestly don’t think I would have survived this past college year without you. It has been a year of ups and downs, and hopefully, this summer will give us a break from all of that. You have helped me so much and been there for me through it all, and for that I thank you. So here is a letter dedicated to you.
You taught me how to cook. We spent the year making our “roommate dinners” every week. I am so grateful for all of the patience you had with me. I’ve learned some valuable tips and tricks from you that I can use next school year!
You kill the bugs in the house because I'm too much of a wimp to do it. All I have to do is scream and yell, "Mom, a bug!" and one of you will be there to kill it. If it wasn't for you, those nasty little things would still be in our dorm.
You were there for me through my breakups. You showed me that it was okay for me to be single and that, no matter what, you would both be there for me. You also supported me when I wanted to get back into the dating game. Even though I might act a little crazy sometimes, you are always there to cheer me on (or tell me when I’m being crazy).
Thank you for celebrating with me. We celebrated birthdays, exam grades, anniversaries, and more! You two make every night fun! We can turn an ordinary school night into the time of our lives. Whether we are just talking to each other across the hall from our rooms or sitting downstairs watching movies, any time is amazing as long as you are both there!
You are okay with the fact that I am goofy. Through all the silly Snapchats and bad puns, you both put up with me (even if I make you roll your eyes). You still are there even when I have tried to “Guess what? Chicken butt” you for the 20th time.
You compliment me and make me feel loved. You tell me good things you like about me when I have had a bad day. You hug me when I need it on days where I am feeling anxious. You both remind me that God loves me and has a plan for me in His “big book of everything.” I am so very blessed to have two dorm moms like you.
I can’t wait to live with you again next year!
Love,
Your Dorm Daughter
