Dear Disney Characters,

Peter Pan: Thank you for being there for me when I had to make difficult decisions. You reminded me that I can and always will be a child at heart, and that is ok. You were there for me during a hard time in my life and brought joy and magic when you came to visit. You reminded me to focus on the happy times in order to get through the storm. I will always be a Lost Girl waiting for a chance to go to Neverland.

Belle: Thank you for being someone who I can look up to. I identify with you so much and you will always be one of my heroes. Like you, my nose is always stuck in a book and my imagination runs wild making me the odd one out. You are always there to remind me to stay true to myself and that it is ok to be different.

Ariel: Thank you for reminding me to always be curious and that love is worth the sacrifices because in the end, it is the only thing that matters. That isn't to say that you should let your prince walk all over you, but it does mean that love is worth the risks. You remind me to be strong and steadfast when faced when opposition and to never change your ideals and beliefs to be the same as someone else's.

Mulan: Thank you for reminding me of what family is worth. If you can fight in a war, I can work on forgiving those who wronged me. The inner strength that you have inspires me to fight for what I believe in and for those that I love.

Rapunzel: I know that I haven't known you as long, but thank you for reminding me that my creativity and artistry is a strength that should not be ignored. You showed me that being optimistic is not a bad thing and that there is always a way out and there is always a bright side to every situation. You gave me a reason to find a new dream.

Alice: Thank you for showing me that it is ok to be a little bonkers. You and your friends from Wonderland allowed me to break from my shell and not worry about what everyone else thinks of me. As long as I am happy with myself everything will be ok.

Snow White: You are my OG favorite and I just wanted to thank you for being there for me from the beginning. You allowed me to bond with my grandmother and you remind me that innocence is not always a bad thing. You also taught me to not take things from strangers, so thank you for that as well.

Without all of you I would not be the person that I am today and I want to give a big thank you to Walt Disney and those who continued his legacy because I don't know who I would be without these people you have brought into my life, and truthfully I don't want to because I am happy with who I am. You are all a big part of my life and I wouldn't be me without you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
