Throughout most of high school I knew that when I got to college, I would join a Greek organization. During the summer right before my freshman year of college, I decided to take summer classes. During that summer, I learned so much about the sororities on campus, and I thought there was no way that I was going to find the right place to call home. But then I did.
Dear Delta Phi Epsilon,
Words honestly can't say how thankful I am for you and that I found you. Going away for college was something that I knew was going to be hard, especially since I barely knew anyone at Georgia Southern, but then I found y'all and life got easier. Thank you for not only giving me the sister that I never had, but thank you for giving me more than 100 sisters that I love so dearly. Thank you for giving me a place where I could completely be myself while being surrounded by so many different people who also have amazing personalities. Thank you for instilling the values of dedication, pride, excellence, love, justice, and sisterhood in me and helping me become a better person through those values.
Thank you for helping me find not only my sisters, but my future bridesmaids and best friends. The day that I unwrapped my Big on Big/Little reveal, I did not only find out who my Big was and became a part of the best family, but I also found my best friend and role model. The day that I met my best friends at a chapter workshop, I didn't know how close we were going to become, and I couldn't imagine doing life without them. Delta Phi Epsilon gave me a home away from home. It gave me my role models that I can look up to and inspire to be like. Thank you for helping me find people who share so many things that I do and that accept all of my little quirks. Thank you for giving me sisters that stood by me when tragedy struck, and I was so lost. Thank you for helping me find pals who will stay up with me for hours at the library or that will sit there for hours while I try to figure out something to wear.
Delta Phi Epsilon, thank you for helping me become the person that I am today. Thank you for helping be more confident and more accepting of myself. Thank you for teaching me that it is OK to talk to someone new or to try out something that I have never tried before. Thank you for all the memories over the past nine months. I cannot wait for all the adventures over the years as a Delta Phi Epsilon sister.
XOXO,
A Forever Sister
