Dear Biggie, I love you.

From your extra as f*ck Little.

Dear Biggie, I love you.
Eva Perry

I'm pretty sure you know what big/little is even if you aren't a part of greek life, mainly because all these sorority b*tches run around screaming about how obsessed they are with their big or little. If you don't want to hear a sorority b*tch tell you why she loves her big, please leave. Because I'm about to tell you why My Big is the Best Big.

1. She bakes.

Okay, let me preface this with saying that when I walked in on the first night of big-little and I had A MILLION mini snickers, the second night, I got A MILLION DORITOS AND BROWNIES. Now, I cannot bake, I cannot cook, I don't even know how to properly cook rice (STG I should just do a listicle about all my TERRIBLE cooking experiences, they're that bad). But homegirl bakes, and homegirl baked for me, before I even knew exactly who she was. But, wait, that's not all! My Gbig WENT TO CULINARY SCHOOL AND MAJORED IN PASTRIES. So basically, my big (and my Gbig) are literally all I need in life because they bake, and they bake DAMN good.

2. She's extra As F*ck

But not only is my big extra, my whole goddamn fam is extra. To the point where other people get jealous because they think we're trying to one-up them, but in reality, we're just that extra. My big literally thought it would be a good idea to make me a cabinet for the box that gifts get delivered in. A CABINET, made of WOOD, that she would have made herself. On reveal, they went full out in Star Wars costumes, I got a LIGHTSABER. My Gbig asks that I call her Grandma, my GGbig asks that I call her GiGi (Not GG, but GiGi "like G-I-G-I, I've always wanted that as a nickname"). Anyways, we're all extra as fuck, but we're all extra as fuck together so basically its a match made in heaven.

3. We are one

I swear to god, anytime I'm having a bad day, or a bad week, she knows. She texts me ALL the time and when I don't answer, she knows something is up. Also, my whole fam, my Big, my GBig (who asked me on the first day to call her Grandma), and my GGBig (who told me "I've always wanted GiGi to be a nickname. But not "G-G, G-I-G-I" so GiGi she is) are all different versions of the same person. Our fam is one. We are one.

4. She brings out the best in me

Sometimes you need soft love (i.e hugs and cuddles and chocolate), other times you need tough love. Whatever kind of love I need, she gives me. And she also makes me a better person. I'm complaining about my classes-- she tells me to get my shit together and go to class. I'm complaining about gaining weight-- she makes us a gym schedule so we can work out together. Whatever it is, she's there to make me the best version of me. And I can't thank her enough.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
