Dear Best Friend,
I know I don't say it nearly enough, but I'm grateful for you. I'm grateful for deciding to introduce myself the first day of school. I'm grateful for all the memories we have - summer vacations, being the only ones dancing to "Heartbeat Song" by Kelly Clarkson at Junior Prom, laughing hysterically during math class about the stupidest things, and spontaneously deciding to get ice cream and talking for hours when we were both having a crappy day.
I love knowing you'll always be there for me, whether it's sharing a funny video I found, ranting to you about the class that I hate, or having deep talks about life. I love knowing that I can trust you with anything. I have a pretty hard time opening up to people, so even when everything is going to hell and I feel alone, I can count on you to listen to me, to keep my secrets, and share in whatever is weighing on me. I hope you remember that I'll always be there for you too, no matter the time or place, even though I'm 200+ miles away. Thank God for texting and FaceTime! Honestly, being far away has helped remind me how lucky I am to have you, and it makes seeing you when I come home to visit that much better.
Anyway, there's so much more I could and should say, but basically, I just wanted you to know how much I love and appreciate you. I honestly don't know where I'd be without you as my friend. That's so cliché (but you know how much I love my clichés!) but it's so true. I can't wait to see you soon.
Love you lots B,
Your best friend
