Sometimes life gets in the way of the thoughts that are in our head. We have this perfect story of how we want our lives to go and then we get earth shattering news that stops our breathing and life in its tracks. Everything feels icy cold and it feels like nobody is on your side, but that's where you're wrong.

At the end of the day, you are love. You are supported, you are thought of, and you are prayed for. You are so special, accomplished, and bright. Your kindness and your spark of life is refreshing and you deserve so much more than the current heartbreak that you feel.

I know that you want to crawl into a hard covered shell and listen to really sappy music and watch tear-jerker movies but those aren't going to help you. You need to go out and get dinner, get a lemonade, and celebrate your life. You need to work out because of the passion you have for it and you need to play with your doggie and let him lick all your tears away.

Every day you need to do something small for yourself such as write in a journal, go for a run, or treat yourself to Starbucks. Remember all your little accomplishments and all the wonderful things that make you so so special. Start off with something good and then let it go from that point on because harboring bad things really doesn't do anything for you and only will make your day terrible.

Hang out with your girlfriends, get the A in the class that you are struggling in, and binge a little Netflix. It's one thing to be be lost and another to be found. Being found is the best feeling. It's the feeling of wanting to be left alone yet you're making yourself be around people who fill you full to the brim and who challenge you. It's about being loved and giving love even when you don't think that you can offer anything in exchange.

But most importantly remember how much to mean to me, your family, and your friends. You are so valued and important and you are better than whatever struggle that is currently facing you. You make the world better just by your existence and your love that you share.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
