To My Best Friend From Home, Nothing Will Ever Come Between Us

Thank you so much for everything and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

I know it's been a while since I've seen you. I knew when I moved away for college it would be hard. I just want to say that I miss you more than you could possibly know. When we met in the fourth grade, we were instant best friends. Looking back, I didn't realize how important you would be in my life.

First of all, I want to say thank you. Thank you for all of our memories. No matter how hard we try, that picture of us with our basketball court painting that says "save the pandas," will never be forgotten. That being said, since that picture was taken, we have made so many more memories from running around with each other at the livestock expo to that one time we used a camera timer and a fence post to take a picture of our butts after we got done riding bareback, and everything in between.

Thank you for all of our pointless drives. They may have seemed pointless, but at the time, they were exactly what I needed. They could always make my night so much better no matter what was going on. Also, let's be honest our jam sessions are pretty much the best ever.Thank you for always putting up with my various moods. You always knew how to handle me no matter what mood I was in.

You handled my laughing fits where I laughed so hard it literally looked like I was possessed as well as my mopy moods where I didn't have the motivation to talk to anyone. You always handled them like a champ and weren't afraid to put me in my place when I needed it.

Now that we are in different places for college life is rough. I miss our Wednesday night traditions and our late night talks. I hate that I don't get to see you every day like normal. I hate that we don't talk as much and that I don't get to share everything with you. We planned to go to college together and make all of these memories together, but life got in the way and things changed.

Although I don't see you or talk to you as often as I'd like, I still couldn't replace you. Even from so far away you are still my main support system, encouraging me to step out of my comfort zones and do big things. I know that when I look back you are always going to be there cheering me on no matter what it is.

That's what's so special about our friendship. We can go for weeks without seeing or talking to each other, but when we do we don't miss a beat. You will forever and always be my best friend in the entire world. I know that we are busy and we are both making new friends but I know that nothing is ever going to come between us. I mean nobody else could ever understand our inside jokes or tolerate my mood swings like you do. I love you to the moon and I hope you realize that.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
