The Universty of Dayton actually had a snow delay on Wednesday, February 7th. The snow came quickly overnight into the morning, which led to some classes being canceled. It was about 5-inches of soft snow that covered the ground of the Dayton area. This snow was not packing snow, but simply because the students could not build a snowman did not mean they did not play in the snow. With lots of words and tracks across the campus, everyone had some fun. I was disappointed to see that no one was allowed to sled down Stuart Hill, nor have a real sled to slide down any other snowy hills.
This amount can have very different reactions from the students who attend the University of Dayton. Some students, raised in the Chicago-land area, for example, have had to go to high school in way more snow than was seen on Wednesday. But for others such as those from as close as Cincinnati were surprised that the whole day was not canceled.
This particular delay was because of the volume of snow in such a short period of time, but for other schools as close as Wright State University the whole day was canceled. That school is a mainly commuter school so therefore it would make more sense than for the University of Dayton where there is a great student body living on campus.
To celebrate the delay because of snow on the roads, here are some beautiful snowy pictures for your pleasure.
