You know when something small happens and it kind of derails part of your day? Like when my yoga class got interrupted by a tornado warning, and I ended up sitting in the recreation center basement for half an hour. Point is, we have unexpected things happen to us every day. Sometimes they're good, and other times, you think your whole day is ruined.
So how do you move on from the stuff that makes you think it's the worst day ever?
It's simple: you look at the stuff that does the complete opposite.
For instance, this morning I made it out of my house late and was almost late to my class.
But later in the day, I got to read a letter from my fifth-grade pen pal. It may not seem like much, but it made me completely forget about almost being late.
Just seeing my friends at an event for a club made me forget for a little bit that I had to write two papers later. I was not stressed for about two hours, and it was very much needed.
Whether it's people or things, there's always stuff that can go wrong during the day. So look for the little things that just make stuff go right. It all ends up balancing out in the end.
