We all have our struggles throughout the week. Every day brings new challenges and new reasons to look forward to the weekend. But each day is different and should be treated as such.
Monday is always the worst.
It’s the first day back to classes after a weekend of relaxing. Bright and early in the morning, you have to pull yourself back together enough to get through the day without falling apart or falling asleep. Everyone needs at least two cups of coffee just to say good morning. To be truthful, Monday gets a bad reputation. But, Monday also deserves it.
The only good thing about Tuesday is the tacos.
Otherwise, it just fades into the background, always one-upped by Wednesday. Much like Monday, Tuesdays are filled with dread because it’s only the second day of the workweek. There are still three more days to go.
Wednesday is HUMP day!
Getting to Wednesday is like getting to the halfway marker in a marathon. Before that point, you weren’t sure if you could make it what with the leg cramps and the burning lungs. But that halfway point is almost rejuvenating, helping you to push on if only for a little bit longer.
Thursday feels way too much like a Friday.
It tricks you into thinking that the weekend is much closer than it actually is. And when you realize your mistake, it feels that much worse. Thursday’s sole purpose is to make you wish the weekend were already here. You can basically taste the freedom, but then you remember that it’s only Thursday.
TGIF.
Friday feels like a godsend by the end of the week. After all the working and the stress, you can finally kick back and forget about all your assignments and projects for a little while. You can go on that weekend trip you’ve been waiting all week for. Or you can start binging the new season of Orange is the New Black on Netflix. It’s a hotbed of opportunities.
Saturdays are for parties. Need I say more?
And Sunday...
Sunday is the day you curse yourself as you try to cram a whole weekend’s worth of homework into a single afternoon. No one wakes up early on Sunday, and no one goes to bed early on Sunday. We’re all too busy trying to play catch up and figure out just why we didn’t think to start any of our work earlier.
