As of August 26th, there have been 233 mass shootings in just eight months.

There isn't a definition for mass shootings but according to the F.B.I, a mass shooting is, when four or more people are individually shot. Some people say it's not the gun it's the person and I agree with that. I don't like guns. You can't talk me into liking guns and being comfortable around them; I'm just not. I know many people agree with me on that.

There is something wrong with our country, and I believe part of it is our mental health care and the background checks that go on while buying a gun.

You have probably recently seen news coverage, and articles about the Jacksonville Shooting. David Katz, 24, went to a gaming competition and killed two fellow gamers. Katz, also a fellow gamer has a troubling past that we cannot ignore. Katz has had 26 house callouts to his house, took anti-psychotic medication, and spent more than 30 days in a mental health facility and somehow passed background checks in one of the toughest gun-controlled states.

You're probably wondering how in the world could this happen? I'm also thinking the same thing. When will we lock down and take control of this problem? We can make the next mass shooting preventable because we all know in the country we live in, another one will happen. And it's sad to even say that, but it has become the norm for us, and it shouldn't be.

Katz getting guns could've been more preventable.

Katz killing two people could've been preventable.

We need to check hospital and doctor records, we need to check in with the police to see if this person has a concerning record and a record in general. We need to call and write to our senators and express our concern. We need to use our voices to keep ourselves safe and our children safe. This is a preventable problem that we can make an end to. Yet if we want this to end we all must do our part.

People who own guns, I don't blame you for these shootings.

No one does, we are just so scared of what could happen and what is happening around us. We just feel unsafe with our surroundings and with guns. Help us feel safe and make a call. Some don't want guns in this country at all, and some people just want stronger background checks in the country.

All mass shootings are preventable.

Now let's do something to stop them.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
