8 "Old" Dating Habits That Need To Be The New Norm

Don't you just love it when people look and at you and say, "How are you single?" Like I get it, I'm attractive and I look like the kind of girl that would be in a committed relationship of like four years.

Well I'm not.

Why? Maybe because I'm fed up with the guys in my generation currently. I live in a generation where most guys really only want sex from you. And the ones that don't are too scared to make a move. It's honestly really tiring and I know that I'm not the only girl fed up with it. I really wish these boys would turn into men and learn how to treat a woman, or just revert back to the "old" way of dating.

1. Take a girl on a REAL Date.

All this "meet me there" or "hangouts" have got to go. In order to have an actual chance with someone you have to take them on a real date. Pick them up, meet their parents, pay for the meal. It's simple.

2. Shake hands with her father.

Ok seriously, this should be a no brainer but they're people out there who won't shake her father's hand. A father's approval is something a girl looks for, don't make her feel like you don't care by not shaking his hand.

3. Dress up for a date.

Gym shorts and a t-shirt are not appropriate date material outfits. Neither is blue jeans and a t-shirt. Put on a button up and make her feel like you actually tried a little bit.

4. Open the door for her.

Really though. It's not hard to open her car door or the door to a restaurant. Yeah, she might not want you to but I promise the moment you open her door for her is the moment that she thinks "Oh maybe he is a gentleman."

5. Communicate with her.

Seriously, get off your phone. What kind of a relationship do you expect her to want with you if you're always on your phone when you're with her.

6. Be honest.

Girls like to know what your plans for the future so tell us. Don't be scared, if you say you want to be a Nascar driver chances are we'll either find it funny and ask why or we will think it's really cool.

7. Courtship

Today's society is all about not getting mixed up emotionally just physically so what if we switched that. Maybe try to have an emotional relationship with someone before taking that next step.

8. Ask permission.

This is a big one. If I don't want you to kiss me then don't kiss me. Ask first because chances are you're gonna kiss someone one day and they are going to slap you if you don't ask permission first.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
