Dance is a beautiful art form. Not many people are able to physically accomplish the perfect turn out or the highest balance. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't give it a try. Every little girl goes through the ballet phase. The ballet phase Is where your mom gets all the pink tights and leotards and takes you to your first class one-hundred percent ready to make you a true dancer. There will be no more living room dancing, or pretend dances around the house. Your mother will make sure you become not only the best, but a star.

For some people as soon as they took their first leap you could tell the were born to dance. Many others are dragged up the studio steps, tears streaming, and the ultimate refusal to dance begins. This whole determination to not dance then sends their mom home with the crushed dream of a Prima Ballerina for a daughter, until the next dance season. The ballet phase is an important period in a young girls life. You could either chose to walk into that studio and smile, or walk away from an unknown future. For me, I walked on in and smiled. I lit up at the mention of dance and burned with a passion to learn every day. I will never forget all of the amazing things dance has given me, but three stand out.

1. My Freedom

Thank you ballet for teaching me the best thing to do in any situation is breath. This rule is so true because if you have two back to back dances with a quick change air is a must. You've taught me that letting go and just losing your self is a beautiful thing. I've learned through dance to just be you and to let others see your passion through your dancing. Your smile on stage could be the spark in a little girl or the newly lit fire inside an adult. I could never thank dance enough for being so freeing and for being an outlet for me to express myself.

2. My Family

Thank you, dance classes for giving me an additional family. I have met so many unique and positive examples for a role model. They say it takes a village to raise a child, well it takes a whole crew of teachers to raise a dancer. To my former teachers I love you so much, thank you for shaping me into the young woman I am today. All those long days where you have no more energy to go you'll have your studio sisters to pull you along. You develop a bond that no one or situation can erase. Statesboro School of Dance you will always be my Studio Home, I love you.

3.My Future

Thank you, dance for helping me embark on my future goals. Without you I wouldn't love the rush of being on stage nor would I love the joy being a dancer brings. All the many hours I put into hard combinations and crazy routines, I am grateful for. You showed me that there is more to this crazy world than just my small town. You helped me find my college and helped me to continue to pursue my dreams. Every day I pull inspiration from my dance classes and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Let them praise his name with dancing!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
