This last Wednesday Florida State University made a huge statement. In 26.2 hours we raised $240,769.60. What exactly did we raise this much money for you ask? Well, for the kids of course!
Dance Marathon at FSU is so incredible. For 22 years Florida State has been raising money for Dance Marathon, benefiting the Children's Miracle Network, and every year just seems to get better and better.
The passion our campus has for the kids is inspiring. To have a community come together and make a statement this big is something that can't be overheard. Some people say miracles don't exist, but those people haven't heard of Dance Marathon at FSU. They haven't seen the miracles we make happen all year long. They don't know of the miracles FSU strives to make for the kid. They don't know what we do to make those miracles possible. So we made a statement and let me tell you it was filled with nothing but miracles.
How did we get there? How did we do it? We showed people our passion. We showed people just the kinds of heights we would climb for the kids. That alone is a statement in its self. It's amazing what can happen when a huge group of students who are a part of something bigger than themselves put everything aside and do anything and everything necessary for the kids. For 26.2 hours we strived to reach a goal that seemed almost impossible. For 26.2 hours we never stopped thinking about the kids. For 26.2 hours we made a statement.
I am so proud to have been apart of this phenomenal statement. There was no better way I would have wanted to spend my Wednesday than raising money for Dance Marathon. I will always be FTK and I will always have a passion for Dance Marathon.
