You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home

God will always come to your rescue, He is just one crying prayer away.

You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home

Have you ever felt like you've messed up too much in life that God can't pull you back to himself? Well, let me tell you, God is bigger than the mess you've made. I can assure you of that. He is capable of anything. He is bigger than anyone and anything, and He can bring you back to Himself. All you have to do is have a willing heart that surrenders to Him.

I want to share with you a story about my family dog, Daisy. We love her more than she will ever know. However, sometimes she gets out of the invisible fence. She may see a deer or a mail truck, and then, she will dart off after them. She may even just get out just because she wants to. If I go on a walk, she thinks she can go on one, too, all by herself.

In order for us to take her on a walk, we have to put her in our car and drive her to the street so she won't be shocked. This way Daisy knows that she cannot get past the fence unless she is in my moms car. In a way we have "trained" her so that she can't get out. However, she still likes to be a little rebellious at times. She always comes back home to us though, and there's a specific spot she will come back to: the back of our house. When we try to get her, we have to pick her up to cross her back over the line (without her collar on). Once we pick her up and let her go, she runs inside. Sometimes when we try to go and get her, she will run away again. She likes to play hide-n-seek, but when she is finally ready, she will let us come and pick her up. Sometimes she will be barking at us at 3 a.m. and we will still go and get her. She can run away a million times and we will always go and get her because we love her.

That is the same way with God. You can run away a million times but He will always love you, and that will never change. However, we must be willing to stop going after what we've been chasing after, and let God come and rescue us and take us back home to Him where we are safe.

God doesn't withhold anything good from you. In fact, it's just the opposite. God is always fighting on your behalf. He is always protecting you from the things you cannot see. God has good plans for your life. Trust Him with it.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

So if you are like my dog (and we've all been there at some point in our lives), I encourage you to stop running away, and ask God to come and rescue you. He is just a crying prayer away.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
